Brand name:- Crotorax , Croton 10% cream , lotions.

Crotamiton belongs to two classes of medicines called antipruritics and scabicides. It works by killing the mites, which cause scabies.

Pharmacodynamic:- 

Crotamiton is usually used to treat pruritis (itching of the skin) caused by scabies or sunburn. Crotamiton relieves itching by producing what is called a counter-irritation. As crotamiton evaporates from the skin, it produces a cooling effect. This cooling effect helps to divert your body's attention away from the itching. Due to this cooling effect it is also effective for the relief of sunburn. The drug is also believed to kill scabies through an unknown mechanism.

As crotamiton evaporates from the skin, it produces a cooling effect. This cooling effect helps to divert your body's attention away from the itching.

Used:- 

Used to treat scabies infection. It is also used to relieve the itching of certain skin conditions. This medicine is available only with your doctor's prescription.

Side Effects:- 

Unlikely to cause side-effects unless you are allergic to one of the ingredients in the preparation.

Dose:- It is applied twice at 24 hours interval and washed off day after that. As directed by your doctor.
