Cetrimide is a soapy powder with a faint fishy odour. Used as 1-3% solution, it has good cleansing action, efficiently removing dirt,grease,tar and congealed blood from road side accident wounds. Alone or in combination with chlorhexidine, it is one of the most popular hospital antiseptic and disinfectant for surgical instruments, utensils, baths etc.
